2021 Themes and Activities

Make your camping experience even more fun, by participating in our weekend events.  Each weekend we will have games or crafts based around a theme. A detailed schedule of each weekend is available at the camp store.  You can also get more details about the weekends on our Facebook page.

All activities subject to change due to COVID-19, weather conditions and participation. Activites with ($) have a fee all other activities are free.  Mask may be required for some activities.

Marshmallows with mommy

May 7-9  Marshmallows with Mom

Melt some marshmallows and make a create treat with mon.  Craft a gift for mom and play who knows mom best.  

May 14-16 Camper Appreciation Weekend

If you have camped with us in the past this weekend is for you. Pay for Friday and get Saturday for 1/2 price, plus we will do a free ice cream treat and draw names from all of those camping with us for Oak Park Merchandise.  

Guest appreciation weekend

May 21-23 

Real life Super Heroes

We will give 20% off this weekend to all police, military, firefighters, doctors and nurses.  Come relax and unwind, hopefully COVID is winding down by this time.

June 4-6 Creative Colorful              Craziness

We will make colorful shirts (bring a shirt or buy one at the camp store that says OPK for $7.50) we will supply the paint.  We will have a colorful outdoor adventure, and other colorful crafts and games.4-6

June 11-13 Construction and Design

Design Competitions is the theme for this weekend.  We will use marshmallows, newspaper and do the egg drop.

June  18-20 Dads and Dinosaurs

 Have a Dino-mite time this weekend with Dad.  We will play who knows Dad best for prizes on Saturday night.  There will be a Dino themed scavenger hunt and we will play some Dino themed games. 

We will be painting shirts for dad, grandpa or that special someone for Fathers Day.  Bring a shirt or buy one in the camp store that says Oak Park Kampground for $7.50.  We will supply the paint.

June  25-27 Using Your Noodle 

This weekend is all about fun ways to use a pool noodle.  We will have games a craft and a noodle hunt. 

We will also do ceramic painting.  Purchase your piece to paint and we will supply the paints. ($)

July 1-4 Show us your Red, White & Blue

We will make patriotic t-shirts, bring a shirt or buy one at the camp store that says Oak Park Kampground, for $7.50.  We will have a bike parade, Saturday night movie, Scavenger hunt, a craft and game.  We will have a contest to see who has the best patriotic decorated site.  Glow wagon ride.

Art Bar 39 will be here offering painting classes and art for sale.  

3 night minimum stay with $50 non-refundable deposit.

July 9-11  Family Olympics

Bring your whole family and participate in several fun and some silly challenges to see which family takes the Gold.   Saturday morning we will decorate team t-shirts, bring shirts or buy them at the camp store for $7.50 each.  We will supply the markers to decorate them.

Wet n Wild Weekend

July 16-18:    Wet N Wild Weekend 

 We will do water relays, have a wet scavenger hunt  and hopefully the wet wagon ride.  Bring your squirt guns and try and get the riders on the wagon wet as it goes by. (No water balloons please.)  Be a aware that when the wagon goes by they will be trying to get you wet and anyone or thing outside is fair game.  Saturday evening we will have a take & make kids craft and campfire treat.

July 24-26: Christmas in July

Merry Christmas! Come join us as Santa stops by with a candy cane for the kids. Decorate your site.  Prizes to be awarded for best decorated.  We will do a Christmas craft and play Christmas games.

July 30 – August 1:  Up Up and Away

 Airplane making and contest to see who’s will go the furthers, we will do balloon rockets and other flying or moving creations and contests.

August 6-8:    Wet N Wild Weekend II

We are getting wet again.   We will have the wet wagon ride.  Bring your squirt guns and try and get the riders on the wagon wet as it goes by. August 13-15:   One Mans Treasure

   Garfield will be having its annual Celebration and we encourage everyone to spend some time in town participating.  We will have a Treasure Box Craft.in the morning.  In the evening we will have a treasure hunt.  

August 20-22:    Messy Muddy Mania

We will be getting dirty this weekend, with messy concoctions, a muddy messy obstacle course and even our craft will be messy.

August 27-29:    Aim, Putt, Toss

 We will have our homemade kids carnival games and candy KAMPO for all ages.  We will tie dye (bring a shirt or buy one at the camp store.  We will supply the paint.

Sept. 3-6:   Sweet – Labor Day fun

Help us find Captain Kandy’s lost treasure, play candy bar KAMPO, participate in some candy challenges.  We will have a movie Saturday night and a wagon ride on Sunday night.  Will do ceramic painting ($) on Saturday/

Sept. 10-12:   Halloween Fun

Come decorate your site, for the contest, bring costumes for trick or treating, make a Halloween craft and more.
